Parkrun when raining

Parkrun in the rain My usual Saturday morning starts with the alarm going off and thinking it's Parkrun time again. Then with all the best intentions I get out of bed open the curtains look at how nice the weather is and decide if I want to go back to bed or actually leave the house.  Countless mornings I have decided against Parkrun due to rain or it looking cold.  This morning as I waited for my 10 minute snooze alarm to go off I thought I'm going no matter what. The sky was grey I could see the rustling of trees due to the high winds and it was just starting to rain. muddy trainers I just got up and put on my trainers and went. No spending for a week

So I have decided to not spend for a week. That's seven days with no food shopping or online shopping or going out anywhere which requires money. So far this week it's been interesting to see where my mind goes and how the old habits pop up. I keep thinking of things I need to get or must shop for, but not being able to shop means I have to just pause and say to myself not now. I have cupboards full of food and a well stocked freezer with more than enough for a month's worth of meals. Yet I keep thinking about going food shopping or that I would like to buy something that I don't have rather than just make meals out of the food I have already. It's been nice not having to go to the shops or need to spend anytime waiting for online orders. I will definitely keep doing this every few weeks as a way of just making do with what I have and learning to not buy so many random things.
